The Wind of Change
"No." Victor's reply was final and he did not intend to change it.
"You realize a lot of people will complain." Gerard crossed his legs on the sofa, not actually bothered by the fact that only 17+ students will be able to enter. Less annoying students - that was good for him. Unfortunately - Hannah did not agree.
"You can't do that!" she exclaimed barely holding her fear control. "Some already get their powers at 16!"
"Those are far too rare cases - and such cases can make an exception - others not." Victor replied simply annoyed by Hannah's behaviour.
"But - "
"No, miss Stanely. There is no 'but'. My decision is final." Victor stood up from his desk. "I've been running this school for the last two years and luckily no incidents happened." Victor continued.
Two years ago the previous principal and the whole staff had been replaced. It was his initiative and he made sure necessary actions were taken. In the last two years of the previous principal - there had been 2 death cases among the students - that was horrifying and he needed to make sure it wouldn't happen again. A bit of mind control now and then and far more real effort which he invested and here he was. At the top of a prestigious school of magic.
He truly believed he had to be strict and don't let anyone slide - not teachers - not students. You were always responsible for your own mistakes - no matter is it the first or the tenth mistake you made.
Maybe that's why the school was so successful.
Hannah kept her mouth shut storming out of his office. Better that than she using her power. Gerard sighed bored following her.
"You made a good decision." Alison suddenly joined in as the others left.
"I know." Victor replied slightly annoyed by her. He didn't need her approval.
"Don't make that face." Alison sighed. "I'm on your side."
He wanted to make a snide reply but sustained. Instead he took a deep breath.
"Thank you, mother."
"Always, my dear." Alison replied exiting his office mumbling a catchy song that was stuck in her head for days.
